About Baxter's Fine Jewelry

Family Owned Since 1960

Established in 1960 by Robert and Gloria Messerlian, the company continued to evolve when their son Paul came onboard full-time in 1987 and expanded the retail division into one of Rhode Island's largest and most premier jewelry stores. Paul's daughter, Janina Messerlian, joined the company in 2018 to carry the family business forward and into the future.

   Where it all began

   Our founders, Bob and Gloria, started this business together with a passion for jewelry, beginning their journey in manufacturing — specializing in sourcing pearls and creating essential gold pieces like hoop earrings. Their personality and passion is seen in everything we do, and the legacy they created will always be remembered.

   Meet the owner

   Paul Messerlian

   Following in his parents' footsteps, Paul Messerlian is heavily involved in every aspect of the business he grew up in — and he's now teaching the next generation with his daughter Janina. Baxter's is and always will be a family business with comfortable, trusting relationships at the core.
