How often should I have my jewelry professionally cleaned?
For pieces you wear daily - like engagement rings and wedding bands - we recommend a professional cleaning and inspection about every six months. Pieces worn occasionally can usually go a year between cleanings.
Can I clean my jewelry at home between visits?
Yes - for most diamond and gold jewelry, a soak in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap and a gentle scrub with a soft toothbrush works well. Avoid harsh chemicals like chlorine and bleach, and ask us before cleaning softer stones such as pearls, opals, or emeralds.
Is ultrasonic cleaning safe for every stone?
No - ultrasonic cleaners are great for diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, but they can damage pearls, opals, emeralds, and other treated or fragile stones. That's why every piece is evaluated by a jeweler first, and we only use the methods that are safe for your specific piece.
Do you clean jewelry that wasn't purchased at Baxter's?
Absolutely. We're happy to clean and inspect any jewelry, no matter where it was purchased.
Do I need an appointment?
